@ChristLifeInc1@jeff86135 It was under the Joshua isarael entered the Promised Land, with the "rest" that remains available for God's people. The verse suggests that the rest Joshua provided was not the ultimate rest that God had in mind, as there is still a "Sabbath rest" available for God's people.
@ChristLifeInc1 The names Jesus & Joshua have the same origin in Greek (Iēsous) & Hebrew (Yehoshua). The diff in translation depends on the context & the intended meaning in each passage. In the case of Heb. 4:8, it refers to the historical figure of Joshua, the successor of Moses, & not Jesus.
Happy birthday to our resident pastor, our mummy, friend and sister with a big heart full of love and a passionate zeal for souls Lady Rev. Thelma Awinbilla. God bless you so much for showing us kindness, your consistent encouragement and your desire to see us grow and flourish.
