Eritrea’s Foreign Minister Osman Saleh briefed diplomats in #Asmara today on false accusations against #Eritrea, including claims of #war preparations, involvement in the #Pretoria Agreement, and Ethiopia’s provocative push for sea access. He emphasized that the Eritrean Defense Forces (#EDF) has maintained positions within its internationally recognized borders since November 2022, dismissing claims of their presence in #Ethiopia as scapegoating Eritrea. He pinpointed former #TPLF members of spreading misinformation and reaffirmed Eritrea’s non-involvement in Ethiopia’s internal matters. Additionally, he criticized Ethiopia’s #maritime ambitions as misguided, urging the international community to pressure Ethiopia in a manner that upholds nations’ #sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“Apparently, another heyday for the usual Conflict Enterpreneurs!

Genuine concern to avert any bout of conflict - Intra-State or Inter State - in the Horn of Africa is of course noble and commendable. Silencing the Guns must indeed be the collective commitment of those who care for the well-being of all the peoples in our region.

But the various postulates and "scenario analyses", as well as calls for "external intervention", peddled by most of these Conflict Enterpreneurs lack depth as well as objectivity, and seem mired in unhealthy motives and underlying agendas. And as ever, sullying the image of Eritrea and using it as a convenient political punch-bag seems to be an organic part of these schemes.

In the event, let us reiterate Eritrea's unflinching commitment to peace on the basis of fundamental pillars of international law and the interests of regional stability.

In this respect,
1. The often repeated accusations of "Eritrean troop presence in the #Tigray Region of #Ethiopia" by certain circles is utterly false and floated to create a pretext for stoking conflict. Eritrea's troops were and remain fully deployed within its sovereign territories.

2. As underlined in unequivocal terms on many occasions in the past, Eritrea has no interest whatseover in scuttling the Pretoria Peace Agreement; which is essentially an internal Ethiopian affair,

3. Similarly, Eritrea has no interest to exacerbate internal schisms within the political factions of the #TPLF which it believes can only entail unnecessary and avoidable suffering to the people of Tigray.

4. Along with other toxic agendas, (ethnic and religious polarization etc.), territorial irredentism has remained the principal cause of endemic and cyclical inter-State and Intra-State conflicts in the Horn of #Africa Region. In this context, constant inflammatory statements issued day-in and day-out by various political forces in Ethiopia regarding the #Red #Sea continue to be a recipes for unnecessary tension. This must be condemned in the strongest terms without any equivocation

ኣብዚ ቅንያት’ዚ፡ “ኲናት ዘይተርፍ’ዩ. . . ጸቕጢ እንተዘይተገይሩ ካርታ ምብራቕ ኣፍሪቃ ክቕይር ዝኽእል ኣዕናዊ ኲናት ኣብ ቀረባ ግዜ ክባራዕ ይኽእል’ዩ. . . ማሕበረሰብ ዓለምን ሓያላን ሃገራትን ንምዕጋቱ ክጓየዩ ኣለዎም” ዝድርሳኑ ምህለላ ኲናት፡ ኣእዛን ደላዪ ሰላም ህዝቢ ኣደንቊሩ ኣሎ።

ኣብዚ ዝዓርግ ዘሎ ምህለላ ኲናት፡ ከም ወትሩ ብውጹእ ሓሶታት ተሰንዩ ስም ኤርትራ ክልዓል ይስማዕ’ዩ። “ሰራዊት ኤርትራ መሬት ትግራይ ሒዙ ኣሎ. . . ኤርትራ ስምምዕ ፕሪቶርያ ስለዘይማእምኣ ንምፍሻሉ ኲናት ክትውልዕ ትኽእል እያ. . . ሓደ ወገን ህወሓት ምስ ኤርትራ ወጊኑ ኣሎ. . . ኤርትራ ንፋኖ ትሕግዞም ኣላ. . . ብድሕሪ ኤርትራ ግብጺ፡ ስዑድያ ወዘተ. ኣለዋ” . . .እቲ ሃለውለው ወመዳእታ የብሉን። ክፍለጥ ዘለዎ ሓቅታት፦

- ጸጋታት መሬት፡ ባሕርን ደሴታትን ኣብዚሑ ዝዓደሎ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ፡ ዘይናቱ ብሂጉን ጠሚቱን ኣይፈልጥን። ኣብ ታሪኹ ተወሪሩ እምበር፡ ወሪሩ ዝብል ጽያፍ ዛንታ ኣይርከቦን። ብቓላት ፕረዚደንት ኢሳይያስ ኣፈወርቂ “ዘይናትና ኣይንደልን፣ ናትና ኣይንህብን” ፍሉጥ መትከሉ እዩ። ክንዲ ዝኾነ፡ ኤርትራ ካብቲ ብብይን ኮምሽን ዶብ ዝተሓንጸጸን ዝተመልከተን ኣብ ካርታ ዓለም ዝሰፈረን ኣህጉራዊ ዶብ ወጻኢ፡ ዝሓዘቶ ናይ ዝኾነ ይኹን ወገን ስድሪ መሬት የለን።

- ኤርትራ ኣብ ውሽጣዊ ጉዳይ ሃገራት ዞባና ጣልቃ ኣትያ፡ ንሓደ ወገን ደጊፋ ነቲ ካልእ ከተጥቅዕ ረብሓ ኮነ ድልየትን ሸውሃትን የብላን። ከም ውዕል ፕሪቶርያ ዝኣመሰለ ስምምዓት ድማ፡ ንሰብ ጉዳይ ዝምልከት እምበር ብቐጥታ ንኤርትራ ዝምልከት ኣይኮነን። ሱዳናዊ ጀነራል ኣብ ሓደ ኣጋጣሚ፡ “ኤርትራ ደጋፊት ሓደ ወገን ወይ ካልእ ኣይኮነትን፣ ኤርትራ ኩሉ ሳዕ ደጋፊት ሓቂ እያ።” ኢ ሉ ነይሩ። ብርግጽ ድማ፡ ባህጊን ተገዳስነትን ጻዕርን ኤርትራ፡ ናብ ሰላምን ርግኣትን ህዝብታት ዞባና ዝቐንዐ ጥራይ እዩ።

- ብኣመለኻኽታ ኤርትራ ኣብ ዝኾነ ክፋል ዞባና ዘሰክፍ ኩነታት ምስዝህሉ ናይ መላእ ዞባና ስክፍታ እዩ። ክንዲ ዝኾነ ካብ ግዳማዊ ምትእትታው ተሓዪብካ፡ ንዘቤታውያን ተዋሳእቲ ቀዳምነት ብምሃብ፡ ብምትሕግጋዝ ዞባውያን ሓይልታት ፍታሕ ክርከበሉ ኣለዎ ዝብል ንጹር መርገጺ ኣለዋ። ካብዚ መትከላዊ እምነት’ዚ ብምብጋስ፡ መንግስቲ ኤርትራ ሰላምን ጸጥታን ዞባና ከውሕስ ዝኽእል ርእይቶኡን መትከላቱን ኣነጺሩ እናገለጸ፡ ኣብ መንጎ ህዝብታት’ዚ ዞባ፡ ሕውነት፡ ማዕርነትን ምትሕብባርን ዘማዕብል፣ ሓባራዊ ቁጠባዊ ምዕባለን ሽርክነትን ዘደንፍዕ ባይታ ንምፍጣር፡ ብሃናጺ ጽምዶን ብግብርን ውፉይ ጻዕሪ ከካይድ ምጽንሑ ኩሉ ዝፈልጦ እዩ። ምስ ኩለን ሃገራት ዞባና ዘካይዶ ዲፕሎማሲያዊ ጽምዶ ድማ፡ ብዘይካ ርግኣት ናይዚ ዞባ ካልእ ዛዕባ የብሉን ።

ጸላም ንጸላም ክቕንጥጦ ኣይክእልን’ዩ’፣ ብርሃን ጥራይ’ዩ ንጸላም ክቕንጥጥ ሓይሊ ዘለዎ። ምህለላ ኲናትን ምስዋር ጽልኢን ድማ ሰላምን ርግኣትን ከምጽእ ኣይክእልን’ዩ። ስለዚ፡ ፍርሒን ምጥርጣርን፡ ጽልእን ግጭትን ኣብ ክንዲ ምስዋር፣ ለይቲን መዓልቲን ንኲናት ኣብ ክንዲ ምምህላል፣ ንሰላምን ምትሕብባርን ምውፋይን ምትባዕን ይሓትት። ከምቲ ኣሪስቶትል ዝብሎ፡ “ውግእ ካብ ምስዓር ንላዕሊ፡ ሰላም ምህናጽ እቲ ዝበለጸ ዓወት እዩ።”
