@Lionhearted70@JimmyTheBrummie Really good points. Definitely need to add at least one more attacking player, though. Ideally someone who can guarantee goals - even though goals are premium. Shifting out Bailey/Guessand (or both) can hopefully help towards that ๐ค
Donโt want to be overly negative, but I think the two main concerns I have about Villa (at this moment in time) are:
- Replacing Tielemans & his football IQ
- I donโt see many goals in this current squad, except for Watkins
Still work to be done #AVFC
@Lionhearted70@JimmyTheBrummie Agree with the first point. Unai will give him the opportunity to roam & play freely, which will benefit him. I just think it will be unfair to expect big numbers so early on while transitioning to the league. Do think weโll miss Tielemans, though. Itโs important Kamara stays fit
@ReissKeating@JimmyTheBrummie Yep. I know McGinn and Buendia can chip in a few goals but ideally, the latter really shouldnโt be starting for us next season if we want to be a stronger looking side on paper. Removing Rogers takes away at least 15 G/A guaranteed in the league and thatโs a big worry.
@JimmyTheBrummie Surely it would be unfair for us to expect him to replicate those type of numbers in the Premier League this season, though? Different league - more difficult -, different country - will need time to acclimatise. Heโs only 20. Canโt put too much pressure on him immediately ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I know weโve spent a huge fee on Manzambi, but it would be very harsh to expect a 20yo to adapt right away - as much as weโd all like him to. Will definitely need an acclimatisation period to the league. Need at least one other attacking reinforcement after Garnacho, imo.
@danbardell@J_Tanswell@The1874Podcast Can you ask if there will be other reinforcements in the attacking areas? Feel we still need more, even after Garnacho. Too lightweight quality-wise offensively.

Aston Villa can confirm that Morgan Rogers has completed a permanent transfer to Chelsea.
Since joining from Middlesbrough in 2024, the midfielder has enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence, helping Villa to lift the UEFA Europa League last term, scoring the third goal in the final in Istanbul.
During his time at the club, he also earned his first senior England caps, representing his country at the FIFA World Cup 2026, where the Three Lions finished third.
A player with impeccable behaviour and commitment, Morgan leaves Aston Villa with the best wishes of everyone at the football club for both his service to the club and for his future career.
He will always remain a core part of our recent great moments and memories.
@villareport If itโs a loan w/ a buy option - Iโll stomach it as we seriously need depth in the attacking positions and therefore, it would allow us to buy another winger. If itโs a loan w/ a buy obligation - Iโll be really underwhelmed given some of the other players weโve been linked with.
I hate everything about the Garnacho interest
We lose profit on Rogers
Chelsea inflate the price
Stops us going after Mbaye & others
He's a dressing room killer
99.9% the leak at Man Utd
The ONLY way I could stomach it is a loan + option as long as we get another winger #AVFC
