Motivation is personal. Find what excites you and keep that in your head. Picture a future where you embody your aspirations, then make it come true. #BUExSci294@KyleBeyerPhD
If your last set looks worse than your first that’s a huge sign that you need to decrease the load. Technically, each set should be indistinguishable from each other. It boils down to focusing on correct form at all times. #BUExSci294@KyleBeyerPhD
My perspective:
1) Be happy for the chance to walk into the gym.
2) Know your health could be taken from you in a moment - so be grateful for what you have.
3) Stop saying “Yea, but look how much weight is on the bar...” Unless you’re in a competition, technique > weight.
This is some really good stuff. Especially number 2. Lift the weight YOU are capable of lifting. Sure it may look cool to lift heavier than you should.. but you’re going to injure yourself! #BUExSci294@KyleBeyerPhD
3 🔑s to finding sustainability in the gym:
1) Warm up well
2) Put AS MUCH emphasis in how WELL you’re moving as you do in how much you have on the barbell.
3) Recognize when technique breaks down & learn from it. Don’t continue pushing through compensations.
A lot of people aren’t. You need to be able to admit to your mistakes or you’ll never grow. Lifting is an art, learn from the experts and take your time. #BUExSci294@KyleBeyerPhD
My friends know I’m an exercise science major so I get a lot of questions about lifts.

Your body needs it’s time to grow and heal from training. It’s called sleep. If you don’t get enough you’ll miss out on some potential gains. #BUExSci294@KyleBeyerPhD
Perfection is impossible, but that
doesn’t mean you shouldn’t at least try to make every rep perfect.. right?
I like to picture myself from a 3rd person POV while I’m lifting. This allows me to pick out anything I may be doing wrong, and tweak it. #BUExSci294@KyleBeyerPhD
Instead of taking pre-workout, try eating fresh fruits before gym sessions. The natural sugars will still give you energy, but without growing a dependency on it. #BUExSci294@KyleBeyerPhD
Throughout the spring semester I’ve definitely seen improvement in my lifts.
You may not see results right away, but that’s what makes it so worth it when you eventually do. #BUExSxi294@KyleBeyerPhD
A goal of mine is to increase my vertical leap, so I’ve been hitting a lot of legs lately.
If you have a training goal, make some progress today! #BUExSxi294@KyleBeyerPhD
I was feeling really sore today so I made sure to spend some time stretching. Lack of stretching will make you more likely to injure yourself. #BUExSci294@KyleBeyerPhD
Woke up feeling blessed this morning 🤪
