Each IPOB member must take this Dave Umahi situation seriously; a man who pledged to dismantle IPOB and has exerted every effort to eliminate IPOB/ESN members , causing the deaths of numerous IPOB members and leaving many missing for a long duration .
I believe it is crucial to unite our voices to hold him accountable for the death of this young lady who passed away in his home while under his oversight. It’s not the first time people are dying or being killed under his watch . It can occur to anyone, including your sister, friend, or a family member. Let’s not allow this case to swept under the carpet .

IPOB Factional Crisis Deepens as Homeland Leadership Fires Back at Expulsion Order

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is facing yet another sharp escalation in its prolonged internal leadership crisis, as the Homeland launched a fiery rebuttal to a recent expulsion order issued by the Nnamdi Kanu-led group.

In a memorandum released today, the Homeland dismissed the expulsion notice targeting Mazi Williams Yeje Otegwa Okarammad as “laughable” and evidence of “structural defeat” and panic within the rival camp.

Titled “Laughable: Are You Already Threatened by the Solidarity of Biafrans to Truth?”, the document was issued from the Office of Mazi Williams Yeje Otegwa Okarammad, IPOB Homeland National Coordinator. It was signed by Mazi Expensive, the IPOB Homeland Publicity Secretary.

The statement directly addresses the Nnamdi Kanu-led faction and its supporters, describing them as “Subverters of the People’s Collective Will.” It accuses them of circulating “a panic-induced piece of paper” through “desperate backchannels” in an attempt to expel legitimate custodians of the Biafran struggle.

Excerpts from the memorandum read:

“The immediate question that must be asked to these ‘Sokoto Caliphate appointed’ rebels is simple: Are you already so deeply threatened by the massive solidarity of Biafrans to the truth?”

“It is a glaring sign of structural defeat when an illegitimate body resorts to printing hollow decrees in a failed attempt to suppress the voice of the people.”

The document firmly rejects the expulsion, stating:

“You cannot expel a man from his own home, and an external and strange fellow cannot terminate a mandate given by the collective will of an institution. Your administrative tantrums hold absolutely no water.”

It further warns against the use of force:

“Any attempt to use armed thugs to enforce your illegitimate directives… will be met with resolute defiance. Your deluded hoodlums are definitely not invisible, and they also bleed.”

The memorandum concludes on a defiant note, calling the rival faction’s paperwork “worthless” and “a monument to your own desperation,” while reaffirming that “the march toward absolute truth and total liberation cannot be suspended by the ink of frightened men.”

IPOB has faced internal fragmentation for years, with competing claims over leadership, resources, and strategy further complicated by Kanu’s prolonged legal battles.

Analysts note that such public infighting risks eroding credibility and unity within the pro-Biafra movement at a time when the group seeks to maintain momentum on self-determination issues.

The situation worsened dramatically when Nnamdi Kanu, while in detention in Sokoto Prison, moved to dissolve the Directorate of State (DOS), a key administrative body that had steered the IPOB movement for years. In swift retaliation, the DOS dissolved the Office of Nnamdi Kanu and the Directorate of Radio Biafra, citing critical security reasons.

As of now, neither side has shown signs of backing down. Further statements or on-ground developments in the Southeast are expected in the coming days as the battle for control of IPOB’s narrative and structures continues.

IPOB Biafra land Leadership Issues Stern Warning to Nnamdi Kanu and Associates Over Factional Violence

The Leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB Biafra land ) has issued a strong public warning to Nnamdi Kanu and his associates, declaring that the Biafran people will no longer tolerate acts of factional violence and disruption carried out in his name.

In a statement signed by the IPOB Publicity Secretary Biafra land, IPOB accused certain elements of engaging in extortion, torment, and armed assaults under the pretext of following Kanu’s orders. It emphasized that patience within the movement has been exhausted following Kanu’s official suspension, which was described as a measure to protect the organization’s integrity.

The leadership highlighted years of alleged misconduct by “criminal elements and hoodlums” claiming affiliation with Kanu, despite his access to legal teams and visitors. They noted that previous defenses of Kanu were rooted in a desire for unity, but that protection has now ended.

“While Kanu was the leader of this movement, leadership exercised extreme patience and defended him under the assumption of institutional unity. That shield is gone,” the statement read.

IPOB referenced a recent incident in Abia State where armed hoodlums reportedly invaded an official meeting, attempting to oust the Abia National Coordinator and seize control. The assailants claimed they were acting on direct instructions from Kanu after visiting him at the detention facility in Sokoto.

IPOB Biafra land demanded that Kanu immediately issue a public disclaimer through his lawyers or visitors to denounce these actions. Failure to do so, they warned, would be interpreted as confirmation that he is “actively working as an enemy of the Biafran people.”

While reaffirming commitment to a peaceful struggle, IPOB made clear that it would not allow continued attacks on its structures.

“Nobody is bigger than the collective will of the Biafran people. If any further attempt is made to attack our leadership or disrupt our structures, the people will be ordered to defend themselves and strike back,” the statement warned. “When that day of reckoning arrives, do not cry about the outcome.”

The leadership also pointed to the broader implications of internal divisions, suggesting they provide the Nigerian government opportunities to increase militarization in the region.

Nnamdi Kanu was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Nigerian court on terrorism charges. IPOB has maintained a policy of non-violent agitation in recent years.

Kanu’s suspension by IPOB directorates of state was a measure to protect the movement from groups using the name of Nnamdi Kanu to carry out violent actions.

This latest statement signals a hardening stance by the current IPOB leadership against any perceived attempts to undermine its authority through violence or infiltration.

As of the issuance of this warning, there has been no immediate public response from Kanu or his representatives. The situation remains tense, with potential for further confrontations in Biafra Land if the factions fail to de-escalate.

IPOB urged all parties to heed the warning and respect the collective will of the people to avoid bloodshed.

I thought of a deepened shift from the fee increase itself to a broader question about what citizens have come to accept.
The suspension of the proposed ₦50,000 WAEC and NECO examination fee has been welcomed by many.
But I cannot celebrate because the conversation was never about ₦50,000 alone.
The conversation is about the consciousness of a nation that has conditioned its people to celebrate receiving less than what they deserve.
The proposed increase may have been suspended, but families earning the national minimum wage of ₦70,000 and millions earning even less are still expected to pay for examinations that should be part of a public education system.
Basic education should be free & free indeed!
Not free in government's press statements & during elections, but free in the lived reality of every child.
Parents should not have to choose between feeding their families & educating their children. Education is not a privilege reserved for those who can afford it. It is one of the primary responsibilities of a conscious & accountable state.
Tell me, where in Nigeria does an ordinary family truly enjoy free education from the beginning? Even before a child enters primary school, parents are already burdened with nursery fees, reception fees, admission fees, uniforms, books, transport, PTA levies, development levies, examination levies, and countless other charges.
Then look at the conditions under which many of these children are expected to learn.
Children study in dilapidated classrooms with leaking roofs, collapsing ceilings, broken walls and unsafe buildings. Some learn under trees. Some now share their classrooms with snakes as was published sometime ago. Others have no desks, no libraries, no laboratories, no clean water, no electricity & no functional toilets. Teachers are expected to produce excellence while working in conditions that deny dignity, safety and hope.
Yet after years of asking parents to carry the burden of an education system that has been neglected, those same parents are still expected to pay for WAEC, NECO and JAMB - the very examinations required for their children to move forward in life.
So forgive me if I do not celebrate.
Suspending an increase does not solve the problem.
The problem remains.
A parent earning ₦70,000 a month is still expected to find tens of thousands of naira to register one child for an examination. What of those earning below the minimum wage? What of families with two or three children? What of widows, pensioners & unemployed parents?
This is not a victory.
It is simply the withdrawal of a proposal that should never have existed in the first place.
What concerns me even more is how easily people celebrate.
People have been conditioned to applaud whenever a burden is made slightly lighter, instead of asking why that burden exists at all.
That is the consciousness of low expectations.
A people repeatedly denied their rights eventually begin to mistake temporary relief for justice.
You celebrate crumbs because you have forgotten what a full meal looks like.
And so I ask:
Where is the money going?
Nigeria has borrowed enormous sums over the years. Where have those borrowed funds gone?
Nigeria has also received substantial development assistance from international partners. How much of it has transformed public education? Where are the results?
Reports have highlighted millions of dollars spent on international lobbying and public relations. If resources can be found for those priorities, why can they not be found to guarantee every child safe classrooms, quality teachers and free access to WAEC, NECO and JAMB?

The attention of the Directorate of States of the Indigenous people of Biafra headed by Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem has been drawn to news reports circulating in the public that troops of the Nigerian army arrested "IPOB/ESN explosives experts" in Umuene community in Isiala Ngwa South local government of Abia State.

We want to unequivocally state that this report is false, misleading, and should be disregarded in its entirety.

What you must know.

1. Lies And Deceit: No IPOB/ESN member or personnel was arrested in the said community in Isiala Ngwa South local government of Abia State in connection with manufacturing of any kind of explosives or arms and ammunition.

2. No Evidence No Clue: We have said it before and will continue to affirm that the modus operandi of the Eastern Security Network will continue to be an unsolvable puzzle to the enemy which in this case is the Nigeria government and all her intelligence agencies and security apparatus. The images and videos often circulated with such reports have previously been recycled from unrelated incidents in different locations and ocassions.

3. Old Pattern Of Propaganda: This has become a recurring pattern of unverified claims used to justify heavy military presence and unlawful operations in Biafraland. They have used such unlawful operations to criminalize communities, arresting and disappearing innocent Igbo youths who have committed no crimes.

The Eastern Security Network was formed as a community defense in response to attacks on our farmlands and villages especially by the Fulani terrorists herdsmen in Biafraland.
Labeling every security encounter as "IPOB/ESN" does not address the root causes of insecurity but only shields the real culprits. We are fully aware that it is the policy of the Nigerian government to turn peoples attention away from the actual perpetrators of violence in Biafran territory ( the Eastern Region of Nigeria ) while at the same time projecting all criminal activities and violence in this region on the non violent IPOB and the Eastern Security Network.

Our Call:
To prove how deceitful the Nigerian military are we challenge them to provide verifiable facts if they arrest criminals and allow independent media, human rights organizations, and civil society groups to freely investigate their claims and report accurately without bias.

Our people in Abia State and the entire Biafraland deserve the truth, due process and genuine security not propaganda.
