Elections are not Wars!
#UgandaDecides2026 ๐บ๐ฌ
What happened in Butambala on 15 January 2026 is a deep wound on #Ugandaโs conscience. Armed men raided the home of @HEBobiwineโs Deputy President for Buganda/Central Region under @NUP_Ug, Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi Muhammad (@MuwangaMKivumbi), and in the terror that ensued, innocent lives of constituents who had gathered after polls were lost. Videos now circulating capture the horror where he and his family members are hiding in a room as gunshots ring out and desperate screams pierce the night. No leader, no family, no community should endure such brutality. Oh Uganda, may God uphold thee!
This brutality and lack of humanity shows how those we entrust with protection can instead instill fear, uncertainty, and trauma. The families who lost loved ones deserve truth, justice, and dignity.
We must refuse to normalise this violence or let it fade into yesterdayโs news. Every life taken was a person with dreams, loved ones, and a future stolen. Their memory demands accountability, their survivors deserve compassion, and Uganda deserves institutions that shield citizens rather than endanger them.
Worse still is the #Injustice compounded. The very MP whose home was raided, whose people were killed, and who is grieving the loss of loved ones, now faces prolonged detention on serious trumped-up charges, while calls for independent investigation into the raid remain unmet. #MakeItMakeSense
Elections are not wars. They are not battlegrounds where leaders must hide in back rooms, families must tremble behind locked doors, or citizens must fear the sound of gunfire in the night. Elections are meant to be sacred civic moments where the will of the people is expressed freely, safely, and without intimidation.
As we pray for healing for the bereaved and strength for Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi and his family, we also pray for courage to seek truth, courage for leaders to speak honestly, and courage for communities to stand against fear. May light pierce this darkness, and may Uganda rise with honesty, humility, and renewed hope. ๐๐ฝ

@Wassajja_Aiden@HEBobiwine U people why dont you stop misusing your profiles cause you need cheap likes and followers glow up, stop playing on people's head
@rwomchechen I would like to ask this man one question of all bobi wine he said and dos nothing you ever picked good. So let me tell you this even if you do what your time is out, your government is turning down in few years coming a head.
You chose to stand when it was easier to sit, to speak when it was safer to stay silent.
You have shown us that ordinary people can rise, that voices can turn into movements, and that hope is stronger than fear.
Happy birthday @HEBobiwine
