It should be noted that Poland was particularly hit hard by Great Depression, coal output was down by 27% in 1932 compared to 1928, steel by 61%, and iron by 89%, wage collapsed by 51% and unemployment rate rose to 43%

Specifically the King decorates the banner of the 57th Greater Poland Infantry Regiment, whom he took ceremonial command of, with the Order of Michael the Brave, the highest military award of Romania. The visit was to reaffirm alliance between the countries.
