@NintendoEurope Remake looks great, I've played every other version of Starfox 64, but this VA is absolutely not it man.
There's none of that proper cockiness from before in any of the dialogue, and everyone either sounds pretty flat + hopeful 24/7 or mildly irritated. It's a massive shame.
@teyrns The main two issues were just the linearity and the combat imo. The game doesn't even *need* a remake with active combat like FFXV + FFXVI. Majority of the current JRPGs + Exp33 have shown that proper, intuitive turn based combat still holds up fine nowadays and feels great.
@teyrns I mean, these screenshots are literally from my own playthrough. I played with manual and auto, custom paradigm setups etc like the average player. The game's a snoozefest through the start nevertheless, and I still think different, newer combat would compliment the game better.
#AEM01TacticalHoodie@mikamihic@jeremyzxc123 Sorry for messaging you guys again about this, but it's been quite a while now without any information on the AEM01 hoodies, and even the MIKAMIHIC website (https://t.co/VHGSpIODa2) domain is down and suspended
Is everything alright?
@kuroninji@mikamihic@jeremyzxc123 Hopefully there'll be some communication soon from Mikamihic, it's sadly been over a year now, and it feels like the shipment keeps getting pushed back. If it's delayed past January, I'll probably have to go for the refund route, which would be a shame. I really want this jacket.
@aeolymus@Genki_JPN I reckon the game would benefit from hack and slash esque combat like we've seen with modern RPG releases, though games such as the Persona series and Expedition 33 show that turn based combat totally still works for modern audiences if it's done correctly, and stays engaging.
@Bowlgreen@Genki_JPN@UematsuNobuo I generally just prefer FFXIII trilogy's music for the neoclassical, grandiose yet smooth tracks. Incredible sounding violins, great leitmotif's and an amazing ethereal sound, especially in FFXIII-2. The battle themes also just sound so damn vibrant and upbeat.
@Bowlgreen@Genki_JPN@UematsuNobuo Across the board, Final Fantasy soundtracks contain some of the best music ever written in gaming history. FFX's definitely up there for sure, and nails that traditional sound with the hymns, orchestral and acoustic material, but also has tons of great, fluffy synths too.
@JoeyAsagiri@Genki_JPN Yeah I'd agree with that, the majority of the combat is quite a mindless experience, but the game *does* contain the systems to the battles engaging. It's optional sure, but the 'Autobattle' function negates most of the content, as long as the player's still Paradigm Shift-ing.
@Genki_JPN Genuinely, The FFXIII Trilogy contains my favourite three albums ever created, out of any genre of music. Such a bountiful smorgasbord of some of the greatest music, from sprawling and bright, to deep and ethereal, to lively and upbeat, it's just utterly fantastic.
@Genki_JPN FF13 has one of the BEST soundtracks ever written, BEAUTIFUL scenery and world design, and a solid story.
The game does have an absolute snorefest of a combat system though, and it's incredibly linear. If they remade this, it could easily be one of the best games ever made.
