Firefighters have been tackling a fire in a kitchen at a school on Middlewich Road in Sandbach.

Today our Station flag is being flown at half mast as a mark of respect for former Sandbach Firefighter, Mr Ronald Johnson who sadly passed away on the 14th March 2024. Our memorial bell has been rung in his memory and to acknowledge his service to the Sandbach Community.
Last night, Middlewich Cadets learnt how to construct a Dam using a triple extension ladder, hose, a salvage sheet & lined. This exercise formed part of their current training in the use of a Light Portable Pump.
On Tuesday evening, Sandbach Cadets learnt about the evolution of protective equipment and were able to try on some of the PPE currently used within the Fire Service.
Update regarding the #M6 J17 - J16 closure. The diversion route is signposted with a HOLLOW CIRCLE. There are currently 3.75 mile queue on the M6 Sb leading to the closure.

ONGOING | Six fire engines and a water bowser are in attendance at a fire in a commercial premises in Backford, near Chester. The incident involves a single storey premises and crews are working to extinguish the fire. Please expect possible disruption in the local area.
