@gguworld I was heavy into Grunge and Alternative rock by the time this tune arrived. But in that musical landscape this VH song and their Balance record really felt like a breath of fresh air. That goes as well for BJ These Days record which arrived around the same time.
@EddieTrunk@TrunkNationSXM@SIRIUSXM Loved the 90s alternative rock wave rolling in, and it was time for a change. But definitely also an 80s rock fan and sadly a couple of good albums got caught in the crossfire. Cinderella’s Still Climbing comes to mind.
@OldSchool80s Loved this show. Part of the whole late 70s early 80s sci-fi movement. Battlestar Galactica, Star Wars, Buck Rogers, Blake 7. Good times…
@Photomusicrock Dave will always be more than a hand full, but that’s what makes him edgy and unique. He truly is one of the greatest frontmen of all time. Without him Van Halen would never have reached the same superstardom. They consolidated with Sammy but changed the rock world with Dave.
@coolasice232@HairMetalGuru True story, my guitar teacher in Holland heard the album’s original mix early 2000’s and it sounded freaking awesome. More like Balance. But Ed wanted a more alternative sound so they threw that one away and went for a more alternative sound instead.
@coolasice232@HairMetalGuru Balance: melodic rock oasis in an (for a lot of melodic rock fans) alternative music desert. III: nothing special in relation to the musical trends of the time. So they lost a lot of the melodic rock fans and the alternative rock fans weren’t gonna touch it anyway.
