A family of ostrich was captured on our camera trap enjoying bath time earlier this week at one of Sandfontein's many watering holes.
Enjoy and happy weekend!
Hartmann's zebra are found in abundance on Sandfontein Nature Reserve. You are sure to see them on an early morning game drive, as the sun rises over the sweeping Namibian landscape.
Kudu are often seen on our 81,000 hectare nature reserve. They are very shy creatures and hard to approach. But very beautiful to behold with their helter skelter horns.

Namibia is one of the most scenic countries to fly in, with its ever-changing landscapes. You can also discover Sandfontein by air. We have a well-maintained airstrip that's perfect for light aircraft. Fly-in specials can be arranged - just let us know!

These little fellas are Triops/Tadpole Shrimps. Said to have roamed the earth for more than 250 million years according to fossil records. Found in arid regions with rainfall less than 500mm. These guys were dormant eggs waiting for the rain.
Everyone knows that giraffes have patches. What you might not know is that giraffes use their patches to cool off. Each patch has a sophisticated system of blood vessels running underneath it which acts as a ‘thermal window’ by releasing extra body heat.
