“The Warning in the Wood”
The HMS Resolute
once carved the seas,
Her captain certain
of victories.
But the ice closed in
with a silent decree…
A crown of frost
for her vanity.
For control is a hunger
that blinds the strong,
A compass that points
where the maps are wrong.
And the deeper they steer
for a flawless reign,
The more they inherit
the Resolute’s chain.
