A lot of people have not understood the truth behind Nicolás Maduro’s removal from power with the involvement of the Americans and the help of some people within his own administration.
I do not know why people keep pushing narratives about narcotics and democracy. It was never about narcotics and it was never about democracy.

Donald Trump has said it many times, on different occasions, including recently, that it was about oil. Below, I put together clips of Trump speaking at three different moments, alongside a former United States Army officer saying exactly the same thing. Facts matter, and it is important to get them right.

This was not done because of democracy and not because of drugs. Trump recently released Juan Orlando Hernández from prison, a former Honduran president who helped ship hundreds of tonnes of cocaine into the United States. Despite that, he was pardoned. That alone tells you everything you need to know.

In American foreign policy, it is never about democracy. It is about interests. A man who was effectively a drug dealer and head of state was released because it served American/Trump interests. Maduro was targeted and removed because of oil interests. Not democracy. Not narcotics. Just interests.
