I actually don't think we need another console generation or any gaming hardware upgrades for awhile.
These guys still barely optimize the games they already produce and we know that's not a hardware limitation.
Games don't need to look better, they need to play better.
- Apple price increase
- Steam Machine being expensive
- Xbox price increase
- GTA 6 being 80 USD
- people being unable to buy SSDs and RAM
all of these are tied to one thing btw:
Sam Altman
you don’t hate this guy enough
Steam Machine discourse on here genuinely has shown how stupid some of you are lol
Price is bad, but it’s a realistic price for what it is. No major manufacturer has been able to combat the rising cost of pc parts, i’m not sure why people think valve would have some magic button
- $500 for the base console, not counting games
- $20 yearly to even touch online play
- $70 on average for every game
vs
- Free software working on every pc
- Wide selection of games in reasonable prices
- Optional extra hardware
Nintentards are fucking insufferable
- The price for the Steam Machine is, in fact, too high
- It was clearly intended to be an entry level living room PC
- Valve didn't intend it to be this high
- Valve shouldn't be expected to sell at a loss
Many things can be true at once
Exactly. Games can look good without having to be photorealistic. Modern games, especially CoD, just have all of the vibrancy sucked out of them in the name of realism. If I want to look at a realistic building, I'll just go outside. Just give us good games.
Twitch is killing itself with those pre-roll ads, if I click a stream and the first thing I see are 30 seconds unskippable ads, I'm closing the website.
Gaming hot take:
The Xbox 360 era was the last time it felt like everyone was playing the same games.
Halo 3.
Gears of War.
Call of Duty.
Left 4 Dead.
Today gaming feels bigger than ever, but more fragmented.
Am I wrong?
treyarch games have a different level of longevity in the call of duty franchise
people don’t remember how long black ops 2 lasted. it was populated for years after release and on xbox rejuvenated with back compat in april 2017
black ops 3 the same. 2 years of support for both multiplayer and zombies, the game ended with an astounding amount of content. still visually holds up today
I want everyone to know that I'm fully aware that these Black Ops ports could be the bare minimum and all of this speculation and hype is wasted on something that no one is going to talk about after this week.
My goal has been to make you all aware of what COULD happen to Black Ops 1&2 as a way to raise our standard as a community.
There seems to be a meaningful change going on with Activision under the new Xbox leadership and at this point anything is possible.
Don't settle for scraps. I've seen more hype for decade old CoD games and BO7 Classic Mode than I have for anything else regarding the series.
Keep tweeting about it
Keep talking about it
Keep making hopeful videos
Let them know what you want because I have a strange feeling they're listening 💚
