Mrs. Smith’s Pre-K friends engaged in an arctic rescue! Using warm water, children melted ice to free arctic animals — all while developing fine motor skills. Using water pipettes enhances pincher grasps, hand strength, and eye-hand coordination!

Students from Mrs. Goodman's class at TLC Sandown Central enjoyed the cold weather last week. They made ice cream with creamer cups, salt, snow, and lots of shaking!

PreK weekly Motor Groups with the school physical therapist, Kim DuBois. Gross motor play focuses on using and strengthening large muscles, balance, and coordination, but also boosts problem-solving, focus, emotional regulation, and social skills like teamwork and communication.

At TLC Sandown Central, Ms. Baker's class voted on the names for their snails. JJ, Chewy, and Snowflake were the winners. Each morning during soft start, students are choosing to observe and illustrate what they notice about the snails.

Students from Ms. Faucher's class met in Mrs. Rivers' office during indoor recess for some drawing fun!

Pre-K students in Mrs. Goodman’s class are strengthening their fine motor skills as they use their strong hand and helper hand to tap, push, and connect pretend ice with golf tees and mallets during their snow and ice study.

At TLC at Sandown Central, students in Mrs. Galvin's class using the power of team work to build Mat Man, and to stay warm while on a pretend camping trip.

Parachute Problem Solving!

Students in Ms. Baker's Kindergarten class were collaborative problem solvers as they discussed ways to get the ball from the center of the parachute to the color blue.
