Instead of nightclubs I want a 24hr library with hot chocolate stations, a dessert bar, coffee machine, big comfy chairs and beanbags, blankets, dogs welcome, just people who want to spend the evening reading alone, together, peaceful, a cosy fire, plants, an indoor waterfall.
1041 days since the Taliban BANNED girls from school. Afghanistan is the ONLY country in the world where girls are barred from school & university.
Day by day passes and women & girls are denied their basic human rights. Your silence makes you complicit.https://t.co/gUatTQsQFA
@RestIsPolitics@RoryStewartUK@campbellclaret International: recommendations for a TRIP equivalent in Canada please. My son is moving to Toronto soon. He’s a big TRIP fan & keen to hear your advice on what he should listen to, to find out more about the political landscape there. Thank you
I understand the novelty of Channel 4 hiring Nadine Dorries but we need to stop MPs being rewarded for inadequacy. You were a failure, Nadine Dorries. You're deserving of no one's attention. You were a shitshow without an interval. You’re an irrelevance. Go away. Thank you.
An exciting day for the Afghan men’s cricket team who are through to the semi-final of the T20 World Cup after beating Bangladesh.
But we also remember the women of Afghanistan who are banned from playing any sport - including cricket. The Taliban disbanded the women’s team in 2021.
We’ll be talking about this on tonight’s show, watch at 2100 on Sky News. 🌍📺
This is a sad, shameful and ridiculous day for America. To drag a former President, who is running for President again, through criminal courts over something so trivial feels a massive overreach & an incredibly divisive and obviously politically partisan action.
The students and teenagers turning out night after night in Tbilisi, day after day, yearning for a different sort of future, were some of the most inspiring people I’ve met or reported on.
They want Europe to listen.
It's weird how accustomed to this sort of thing we are. Sunak's exasperation here comes from a flat presumption that other people have simply no right to know when there's going to be an election or a tax rise and it's inherently petty and annoying of them to want to find out.
