I don’t know what is more concerning. That the regulator tweeted about a shutdown not sanctioned by them? That the tweet came at 5:00 PM over an incident that happened at 1:00 AM? That the Military Chief declared only he could sanction reopening the media houses? That a public order to arrest media lead @SueNsibirwa came via X? That the CDF actually believes the press should be 'guided by cadres of the revolution,' or that the Head of State (the last known one, at least) allows all this to happen in silence?
How will this be recorded in the history our children’s children read? 🤔 or maybe the ‘writers of history’ will pretend none of it happened!
Uganda’s military chief, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, ordered the Daily Monitor and NTV Uganda shut, declaring, “I do not believe in a free press,” as soldiers blocked access to their Kampala offices.

For Tabz, we’re beyond analysis, predictions, and hot takes.
We’re operating on prayer and faith because we know exactly whose hands he fell into.
May God intervene.
Uganda is not a poor country!
All its wealth is kept in houses of a few of our relatives, friends, neighbors but the biggest stacks of money are in houses of politicians!
I know you’re reading this while thinking about the URA zip-seal that’s on the door of your small business!
But the day Katushabe Winstone (Mwine Bashaasha) gets arrested for causing loss of unbelievable amounts of tax payer’s money.
I will make a huge party in celebration!
Whoever retweets this is invited to this party because it’s soon!
