@grodriguezlemus 1) Looking at my dissertation in one document was overwhelming for me. I had a different document for each chapter. It helped me stay organized and helped me focus on a section at a time. 2) Writing groups but also regular meetings with friends outside of academia was needed
In high school I was one of a handful of minoritized students in our school community. My senior year school counselor told me not to apply to 4 years colleges to apply to community college. She wasnโt sure I could cut it in college (1/3)

@doriecp Jon and I had a whole discussion about how we went from 150mph all the time to like 50mph with work load and life responsibilities. We had a little bit of an identity crisis ๐ but slowly but surely we remembered what it was like before dissertation time ๐
