DON’T POLITICIZE SECURITY, IT WILL BE DEFEATED UNDER PRESIDENT TINUBU, SAYS UMAHI AS FG FLAGS OFF GOMBE–BIU DUALIZATION
“Security should not be politicized. It should not be weaponized. Why is it that anytime we are trying to have an election, there is heightened insecurity? This is very concerning because anybody who takes the life of others under any guise, God is watching, and God is going to pay back.
“If anybody has a hand in the insecurity because the person wants power, God will resist such a person.

@DOlusegun This is a bold and necessary step toward strengthening grassroots security and protecting lives across the country. President Tinubu is moving Nigeria forward.
STATE POLICE CONSTITUTIONAL FRAMEWORK NEAR COMPLETION- PRESIDENCY
Significant progress has been made towards establishing state police, with a constitutional amendment expected soon, following months of consultations among the Executive, the National Assembly and security authorities.
The Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, disclosed this on Thursday while briefing State House Correspondents after a consultative meeting on state police convened by the Presidency, held at the State House, Abuja.
Gbajabiamila said deliberations on the proposed state police framework began several months ago following a directive by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the process has gained considerable traction.
He explained that establishing state police requires careful consideration of constitutional and legal issues and cannot be implemented hastily.
"We started deliberations in the last three or four months on how to go about the establishment of state police as directed by Mr President.
"Establishing state police is not something that you do with the snap of the fingers. There is a lot involved in terms of constitution and legalities, and thank God we have now gained a lot of traction.
“Hopefully, the amendment will come shortly, and the details of the amendment will come after that," Gbajabiamila added.
According to him, discussions have now advanced to the point of considering the necessary constitutional amendments, with the enabling legislation to follow afterwards.
"Right now, what we are looking at is the constitutional amendment itself, and then the enabling law would follow thereafter. That is what we have been deliberating on in the last couple of hours," he added.
The Chief of Staff highlighted broad national support for the initiative, emphasising that the debate is no longer about whether state police should be establishedbut about creating the appropriate legal and institutional framework for its operation.
He said President Tinubu, who has consistently advocated for state police as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria's security architecture, would receive a comprehensive report on the meeting's outcome.
The meeting is part of a series of consultations convened by the Federal Government to develop a workable framework for the establishment of state police, an initiative aimed at strengthening internal security, improving local intelligence gathering and enhancing the capacity of sub-national governments to address emerging security challenges across the country.
President Tinubu has maintained in the last few months that state police is a necessary response to Nigeria's evolving security challenges, advocating that a decentralised policing structure would strengthen grassroots security, enhance intelligence gathering and improve the protection of lives and property across the country.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy President of the Senate, Jibrin Barau, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu and the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, among other senior government officials.

@NGRPresident@Fmohnigeria@Hope_Uzodimma1 Another major step toward improving healthcare access and quality for Nigerians. Kudos to the FG and Imo State for this great initiative.
@BwalaDaniel President Tinubu is making difficult but important reforms that Nigeria has avoided for years. Giving him more time will help strengthen the economy, improve stability, and secure lasting progress for Nigerians.
@MobilePunch Prayers for the safe return of the children. The Tinubu administration is taking decisive steps to ensure they are rescued safely and the perpetrators are brought to justice.
@DOlusegun This is the kind of forward-thinking reform Nigeria needs. Tinubu’s government is opening the door for stable power, lower business costs, and a stronger economy through renewable energy.
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has officially launched a framework allowing businesses and industrial customers to generate their own solar power and sell excess electricity
back to the national grid, a move that could reshape how the country's chronically underpowered
commercial sector manages its energy costs.
Under the new regulations, eligible participants must install renewable energy systems, primarily solar photovoltaic arrays, with a minimum capacity of 50 kilowatt-peak and a ceiling of 1.5 megawatt-peak.
@TheNationNews Security is everyone’s responsibility, and with unity and cooperation, Nigeria will defeat terrorism and emerge stronger under President Tinubu’s leadership.
@KelOnovo Student loans, increased state allocations, infrastructure projects, minimum wage increase, fuel subsidy reform, forex stability efforts, and local government autonomy reforms your 100k is already shaking 😂 Nigeria issue has always been there let's corporate with PBAT for a change.
@FSYusuff President Tinubu is working to fix years of deep-rooted problems; rebuilding a nation takes time, patience, and collective support.
Not online drama to discourage others.
@RealQueenBee__ President Tinubu is working with security agencies to rescue the kidnapped children, and Nigerians must stay calm and united instead of giving in to the fear bandits are trying to spread.
