Nell, our good friend and colleague for decades, will be missed. Everyone that shared anytime with her was blessed with her goodness, warm caring friendship and her love for family. She has God’s full blessing and we celebrate her wonderful and giving life.

There is an unauthorized invite going around with my name on it from Blue Mountain. This is not from me and I would not open it.

President Trump’s attacks on Oakland are nothing new – they’re rooted in fear-mongering and cheap political point-scoring that targets Black-led cities across America.
As I told Jake Tapper on CNN, we know this playbook. I’ve stood up to this rhetoric in Congress, and as your Mayor, I’ll always defend our community.
The facts speak louder than the noise: We’re making real progress through comprehensive public safety – combining law enforcement, violence prevention, and community policing.
We have more work ahead, but my administration remains relentless in keeping our families safe and our neighborhoods thriving. Oakland deserves better than divisive attacks – and that’s exactly what we’re delivering.
