Steve Bannon has no expertise in saying what coders should make. Please leave it to a group of engineers to decide. Coders don't work as indentured servants. You can only be productive as a coder if you love coding. A good coder would rather code than hang out at the beach. But Bannon can and should comment on the cultural pieces. But please speak calmly to a group of coders first before making bombastic statements that reek of racial bias.

I think @elonmusk is underappreciating the market demand for tesla in India. I get why China doesn't want tesla to setup in India. AQI (Air Quality Index) levels in Indian cities are so unhealthy that electrification cannot come soon enough.

The H1B visa debate is interesting. I get the argument the MAGA right is making that the system is being exploited to bring in non exceptional talent for offshoring Indian tech services companies such as Infosys and TCS. If you believe in the filtering system of American universities, then graduate (or higher level) admittance and successful completion of it should be the sole criteria. That will also ensure a foreigner who comes on an H1B visa acquires education in an American university and gets a chance to assimilate with American culture.
