On this day in 1866, the Battle of Ridgeway was fought between Canadian troops and the Fenians (Irish-Americans).

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing Burlington man, Geoffrey Engbers (52).
Geoffrey was last seen on foot walking northbound on Addison Street in Burlington at approximately 9:00 a.m. on May 26, 2026.
He is described as a White male, approximately 6’1” tall, 180 lbs with a slim build, blue eyes, short brown hair and a scruffy beard. He has a tattoo of a Canadian flag on his left shoulder and a snake on his right forearm. Geoffrey was wearing a green sweater, black jeans, and a blue hat.
Anyone with information about Geoffrey or his possible location is asked to contact police through 9-1-1 or via the non-emergency line at 905-825-4777.

Battlefords RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 12-year-old girl, Zaida Campbell.
Zaida was last seen on May 26, 2026 at 8 a.m. at McKitrick School on 101st Street in North Battleford. Police have been checking places she is known to visit.
She is described as 5’2" tall, 190 lbs, with long brown hair, brown eyes, and eyeglasses. She was last seen wearing a tan camouflage hoodie and grey sweatpants.
Anyone who has seen Zaida Campbell or knows her whereabouts is asked to contact Battlefords RCMP at 310-RCMP.
