For the last 1.5 years, the Ohio House Medicaid Committee has been working to protect the taxpayer while serving our most vulnerable citizens. As a member of this committee, I can attest that especially over the past few weeks, both sides of the aisle have been working together to honestly find policies to eliminate fraud, waste, & abuse.
Last week, Speaker Huffman added three members of leadership to the Medicaid Committee. These three have taken over the process from the chair, and yesterday they presented a 177-page substitute bill that had been released just a few hours before committee began. This was an ambush! Turns out, the details of this sub bill has provisions in it that totally blow up Medicaid in Ohio and will have the exact opposite effect of what we have been working towards.
Last General Assembly we had a rule that required all amendments and sub bills to be available by midnight the day before adopted (The Cinderella Rule). This rule gave some time for amendments to be read; however, this rule was eliminated in this GA. The result has been that time and time again, members have been forced to take votes before seeing the bill, and then only later getting the details. Yesterday, leadership hid the ball again, and in doing so, left the original members of the committee who weren’t part of crafting the sub bill holding the bag.
This is the latest example of the style of leadership the Ohio House is under.—do what we say or else. Believe me, I know firsthand!
And most unfortunately, this trick yesterday probably wasted an opportunity to truly protect the taxpayer. We were on a path to make major and positive reforms to Medicaid in Ohio to weed out Fraud, Waste, and Abuse; however, now with this sub bill and the way it was handled, how can we trust what we are being told by leadership?
Simply put, we cannot.
Oh, and to be clear, I’m a “No” on this SubBill.
Since March, Ramaswamy has spent more than $12 million on ads. Had to loan his campaign millions more to keep the ads running.
GOP turnout dropped 25% in the primary.
And he’s still losing…
So let me get this straight.
Jake Tapper is focused on attacking my Mom.
Jared and Ivanka are building a private island paradise on Albanian protected land.
Don Jr married the daughter of Epstein’s banker, and a startup his fund backs just got a record $620M Pentagon loan.
Eric is taking an Israeli drone company public for $1.5B in the middle of a war with Iran that nobody wanted.
And I know: “But what about your paintings, Hunter?”
Please.
This is why we need Amy Acton for Governor. Ohio taxpayers deserve accountability and oversight of $2.5 billion being sent to private schools https://t.co/YZC5GkTjXw
Acton: We love the Cavs. Ramaswamy managed to score some $60,000 courtside tickets, but was apparently found spending all his time trying to get into the Knicks locker room. When you love Ohio, you’re trying to get into the Cavs locker room.
They deleted 35K followers to bury this. So I’m louder.
If the Epstein files were nothing, why erase me? They can kill an account. They can’t kill a fact.
I’m back. Same fight. Bigger voice.

A federal judge has ordered the Kennedy Center to remove President Trump's name from the facade, website, letterhead, and official materials.
Congress named the Center by statute in 1964 - and the judge ruled only Congress can change it.
There are two Ohios we could wake up to on Nov 4. It can be an Ohio where we celebrate success, faith, family, patriotism, and hard work. Or it can be an Ohio led by a socialist who rejects the values that made us great. That’s up to us to choose.
