Hand embroidered on cotton twill in a 6” Edmunds embroidery hoop. Stitched with one strand of DMC cotton thread. Displayed in a hoop frame from Stay Home Stitches. 50+ hours of work in total 🤍

So ... to the very last panel, to the left on the front of the box. It HAD to be my "signature" bird, the kingfisher. What a gift the kingfisher is to artists in so many genre! He appeared on the cover of my first book, The Embroiderer's Countryside, back in the early 90's and I still love to work him, in so many different poses, today. (Dimensions 2.5" x 3")
Tomorrow ... the big reveal of the finished box!
