@ASvanevik @nanexcool @MartinLSanchez @etherscan AFAIK they rely on Transfer events for Transfer overview (ignoring Mint + Burn events, expecting token contracts to also emit Transfer events from/to 0x0 address).
For balances they use getBalance.
For historical balances, probably checkpointing if indexer notices balance change.
