I have lived in my house for three years and this may be the most amazing quality of life improvement I did not expect. Also I am fully middle aged now.
The only crafting we're doing currently is theorycrafting for ways we can spice up our game if the feedback of upcoming playtests suggests that's what the game needs. If any of you have done something more tangible pop in and share for #CraftWednesday!
The #Arecibo radio telescope collapsed today, officially marking the point of no return and the end of the road for this iconic piece of equipment for anyone learning about astronomy. Just another consequence of the #COVID shitstorm to add to the list. RIP
I did not, in fact, put any sexy equations in my rulebook because my best friend and co-creator of the game started mentioning some incoherent stuff like "common sense" and "being a bloody idiot". The world is not yet ready...
Being the most stereotypical theoretical physics student ever, I have to say I'm extremely tempted to write my rulebook in LaTeX.
I'll maybe add some random equation and a table so it looks extra sexy. Who cares about relevance? Sexy equatiooooooooons
@CardsOrDie It's also important to know which half of people is allowed. Here in Europe I think it's the top half, but your half may vary if you use the imperial system
I was today years old when I thought "hey maybe it's not a coincidence that turkey is called EXACTLY THE SAME as an existing country", of course it turns out that there's a historical connection
The world makes so much sense when you activate more than half a brain cell

Happy Thanksgiving to anyone celebrating! We know it sucks to celebrate any holiday while in lockdown, but please be safe and keep everyone around you safe so we all get a chance at celebrating holidays properly as soon as possible.
We'll do some final in-house playtesting sessions this weekend and should be releasing Hexridge on Steam Workshop for TTS shortly after. That will be the first time we'll have complete strangers try our game and I'd definitely be lying if I said I wasn't nervous!
@and_mirth@PanikGames I'm glad the rest of the internet also isn't overlooking this phenomenon which breaks the laws of reality. I'd like to learn this sorcery
@GamesOfAromaer Definitely! Taking your mind off a game and focusing on another will also pour some fresh air and new ideas if you decide to come back to the original concept.
@GamesOfAromaer And it will prevent situations where you get invested in the future of a prototype but don't work on it long enough that someone else invents a game that makes it obsolete because it's too similar. Happened to us recently, and man it stings! 🥲
@BrokenMillGames I just asked around on the official discord for tts, they mentioned tiles as an alternative if you want differing sides. And there are several shapes, including a hexagonal and circular one, that you can choose from. Hopefully that works for you!
So Tabletop Simulator only supports square custom tokens and for, say, a hexagonal or circular one you'd have to create an entire custom 3D model and texture to use it. Seems like an awful lot of work for something that could easily be streamlined in the game 😕
@BrokenMillGames Oh wow didn't know this! That's cool, I just need the same image on both sides of my tokens. Thanks a lot for the tip! We're still new to TTS development 😅 I guess if you want different sides you could use tiles instead of tokens?
