Harry, there has never been a revision to God’s core message from the time of Adam until today. The fundamental creed has always been identical: life on Earth is temporary, submit to God alone, live righteously to attain Heaven, or do evil and face Hell. While practical laws and guidelines adapted over time for different societies, the foundational theology never changed (ie. the introduction of the concept of the Trinity)

As for why God allowed the earlier scriptures to be corrupted, it ties back to the purpose of human existence itself. God is all-knowing and already knows who will or won't believe, yet He grants us free will and tests us in this earthly life to manifest our choices.
