As a logistics professional, I have always believed that supply chains are the backbone of a self-reliant economy. The Honourable Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi ji’s call for economic self-reliance and conservation of foreign exchange reserves by adopting a simple behavioural change, in view of the West Asia crisis and his appeal to the nation, is a much-needed movement to be led by the people.

At our organisation, we have integrated infrastructure that mirrors the Honourable PM’s vision:

✅ By leveraging our dedicated rail network for consignments, we have significantly cut down on oil and gas consumption compared to road transport and contributed towards zero emissions and sustainable initiatives. This isn’t just cost-efficient; it is a patriotic duty.

✅ We have deployed Electric Vehicles (EVs) for first-mile to last-mile connectivity to the extent possible, ensuring that while our rail does the heavy lifting, our local delivery leaves zero carbon footprint.

✅ Our warehouses are equipped with smart systems to optimise every watt of power, reducing dependency on conventional energy grids.

Beyond business, I urge all stakeholders and peers to heed the Honourable PM’s personal appeals and incorporate into your vision a business strategy that reflects the nation’s priorities. True self-reliance starts with small behavioural changes.

By adding ~901 km to the network of #IndianRailways across 19 districts, these projects are set to improve flow, reduce bottlenecks, and strengthen how goods move across regions.

As the 55th #NationalSafetyDay on the theme, "Engage, Educate & Empower People to Enhance Safety" concludes, I still remember a moment from early in my #Logistics journey. A shipment that was running late, pressure building from every side, and the instinct to “just push a little harder.” But the Pilot (our #Chalak) on that route chose differently.

He slowed down, followed every protocol, and ensured the vehicle and load were secure before moving ahead. The delivery was delayed by a short while, but reached safely.

That day, I understood something that no manual can teach: in logistics, safety is a decision we make in the moments no one is watching.

#SafetyWeek, is not about revisiting rules we already know or doing campaign. It’s about reconnecting with that mindset; the quiet responsibility each of us carries. Whether it’s a driver on a long highway, a warehouse team handling loads, or a manager planning operations; safety lives in our everyday choices.

We often celebrate speed, efficiency, and scale, but the real strength of any operation is how well it protects its people. Because no deadline is more important than a life, and no success is meaningful if it comes at that cost.
