@ShashiTharoor Cometh the hour, cometh the man.
Delighted to know, Shashi. Warmest congratulations to Lt Gen Pushkar and Mrs Anu Pushkar 💐. Another sign Bharat is in safe hands. Jai Hind 🇮🇳🙏.
@VDoraiswami@HCI_London@MEAIndia Congratulations on a fantastic tenure at India House, Your Excellency @VDoraiswami 🥂. You've set a high watermark for Beijing. We're looking forward to seeing you work your magic to catalyse Sino-Indian relationship 🚀. World needs it now more than ever.
@airindia Firstly, flight was on-time 🏆. For a late-night flight this was super important. Secondly, service by Supriya, Rakesh and crew was incredibly gracious, warm and endearing 💐. Soon as they knew of my wife's birthday, they brought us lovely food and pastries with Birthday Greetings that made celebration at 35,000ft truly memorable 🎂. Thank you Supriya & Crew ❤️.
This happened in Mumbai. And they absolutely nailed the aesthetics. Subtle. Harmonious. Almost Kyoto-ish. No gaudy overload. Organisers of festival light and sound shows in Kashi and Ayodhya could take notes.
Professor Kamakoti works in deep tech: micro-processor design. He is the Director of IIT-Madras, the best technological institution in India. He serves in the NSAB.
He richly deserves the honour.
I have defended him on scientific grounds and I will do so again: cow dung and cow urine have excellent microbiome that could be valuable for humans.
It is the slavish colonial mindset that thinks these are not scientific propositions worthy of investigation. Some day, when Harvard or MIT publish a study on this, these enslaved minds would worship that as the gospel truth.
It is the honor of a lifetime to be Chief Guests at the Republic Day celebrations.
A successful India makes the world more stable, prosperous and secure.
And we all benefit ↓ https://t.co/boeqFGv15Q
I stand deeply humbled to receive the nation’s highest peacetime gallantry award from the Hon’ble President of India today. While this honour bears my name, it does not belong to me alone. It is a reflection of collective courage, quiet sacrifices, and unwavering commitment shared by countless individuals who serve the nation with selflessness.
Representing India in space was the privilege of a lifetime. Wearing this medal today is an even greater honour, for I do so on behalf of my colleagues—those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, who made sacrifices, and who believed in a mission larger than themselves and larger than any one individual.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Government of India and to the people of this country, whose love, encouragement, and boundless curiosity for space exploration continue to inspire me. This medal is not just a milestone; it is a responsibility—a reminder that our journey has only begun, and that we must work to ensure that the dream of space travel becomes accessible to many more Indians.
Thank you for your trust and faith.
Jai Hind. Jai Bharat.

Every night, Anke Gowda chose books over rest.
Once a bus conductor, later a timekeeper at the Pandavapur Cooperative Sugar Factory, Gowda spent nearly 30 years working while quietly building a dream.
After long days as a bus conductor, he’d search for what others had left behind—old textbooks, torn novels, discarded dictionaries.
Over decades, that quiet habit grew into Pustak Mane—the world’s largest free-access library with 2M+ books in 20 languages, rare manuscripts, documents from the Mysore dynasty, and newspapers dating back to the 1800s.
No entry fee. No ID cards. No questions asked. Just shelves of knowledge, open to anyone who walks in—students, researchers, writers, civil service aspirants, even judges.
“Books are my breath. It is my duty to preserve them for the next generation,” Gowda says.
Nearly 80% of his salary, his retirement pension of ₹40–45 lakh, and even his house and plots in Mysuru—all of it went into building the library.
Today, at 75, he doesn’t just run the library—he lives inside it with his wife. Because for him, books were never a hobby. They were a responsibility.
This Republic Day, India honoured him with the Padma Shri.
Impact doesn’t always begin with a big idea. Sometimes, it begins with loving one small thing deeply and choosing it, every single day.

Here are the highlights from the Republic Day celebrations 2026. May we always keep strengthening Constitutional values and realise the dream of a Viksit Bharat.
AMCA program moves into its engine decision phase, India is confronting the hardest challenge in combat aviation: high-performance fighter propulsion. Stealth shaping, sensors, and weapons are only effective if the engine can sustain them under extreme conditions.
A fifth-generation engine must deliver far more than raw thrust:
• High thrust-to-weight ratio for supercruise and energy dominance
• Advanced thermal management to support stealth coatings, avionics, and sensors
• Fuel efficiency across combat regimes, not just peak performance
• Durability at high turbine temperatures, where most engines fail
• Upgrade headroom for future sensors, weapons, and electronic warfare systems
This is why engines take longer to master than airframes. Fighters can be designed in years. Engines take decades — metallurgy, single-crystal blades, coatings, cooling channels, and manufacturing precision all matter.
The AMCA engine decision is not about meeting a deadline.
It is about choosing long-term independence over short-term convenience.
Whether through co-development or indigenous mastery, this choice will define:
• India’s future fighter autonomy
• Upgrade freedom across decades
• True self-reliance in high-end air combat
In modern warfare, air power is not decided by what you fly.
It is decided by what powers it.
And that decision is being made now. #indianarmy

An IIT Bombay alumnus, he is also the author of the book 'Collective Spirit Concrete Action – Mann ki Baat and its Influence on India'. He now serves as member of Board for @BharatGen_Com .
A strong and united NDA is Tamil Nadu’s preferred option. People want good governance not corruption and dynasty politics of DMK!
Here are yesterday’s highlights….
Prof Kamakoti, Prof Vasi, and Dr Krishnamurthy richly deserve this laurel, as they catalyse Bharat in this techade - and beyond.
Jai Hind 🇮🇳 Vande Mataram 🙏
@rammadhav_@NitinNabin Congratulations, Ram Madhav Ji 💐. BBMP is in need of a shake-up to deliver world class and effective citizen services at the grassroots, that only @BJP4India can make happen. Grassroot governance will make Bharat a First World Nation in our lifetimes. Jai Hind 🇮🇳.
