@chrisoffner3d This is an issue not just in CH. Students in the US have it far worse, as the tuition fees is insane and they have only 90 days to find a job after studies. I've heard many nightmare-ish tales from Indian students who come back to India with a huge debt and without a job.

As an Indian whose ancestors suffered under the British, I beg to differ. I suggest to read up on all the famines they created to weaken us and to ensure we don't rebel (esp. by Churchill, who was an absolute monster)
Not many people these days know that the British Empire was the driving force behind ending the vast majority of global slavery.
Slavery or de facto slavery was standard practice throughout the world from the dawn of civilization until a few hundred years ago. It is even discussed at length in the Bible, for example.

💡 The solution? Together with @giu_depa , Giuseppe Belgioioso, and @florian_dorfler , we developed a recommender system that acts as a feedback controller, designed to both boost engagement and actively reduce polarization.

My first retreat in my PhD in @florian_dorfler's group was a lot of fun! Weather was the only problem but who cares about it when you have an amazing group!
A very wholesome event: 2 days back as I was hiking in the Alps from 🇦🇹 to 🇨🇭, I still had ~15km after a 17km hike. Although I planned to do it, a random elderly couple in a car stopped and offered to drop me at the nearest dorf. Swiss folks are one of the kindest people ever ❤️
Then a talk on Online Feedback Optimization by @florian_dorfler . Although I have heard numerous talks on it already, it never gets boring when Florian talks about it. His slides and presentation methods are always exciting to hear, even if it's for the 100th time
