Someone said the biggest tragedy of AI is that it’s taken away not only the m dash but also the Oxford comma from us, and I couldn’t agree more. People are literally having their speech suppressed; they’re not using either anymore because they’re afraid their writing will be mistaken for something generated by ChatGPT. I’ve always been a huge fan of both the m dash and the Oxford comma, but I’m purposefully not using them anymore. A tragedy.
