A dramatic video gives motorists a rare look at how quick thinking and proper driving skills can mean the difference between becoming a victim and making a clean escape.
The footage shows a driver being boxed in by suspected hijackers on a public road. Instead of freezing or trying to force his way forward, the motorist immediately switches to reverse and makes a split-second decision that likely saved his life.
What follows can only be described as a masterclass behind the wheel.
With the suspects attempting to close in, the driver accelerates in reverse at speed, maintaining full control of the vehicle while navigating the road with precision.
His passenger opens the door and jumps out leaving the door open but that does not stop him.
Despite the chaos, the driver keeps his line clean, showing remarkable spatial awareness as he continues reversing over a considerable distance without losing control or veering off the road.
The hijackers, clearly caught off guard, could not keep up.
