A short, permitted fireworks display will occur at Great America on May 24 from 9:45 to 9:55 p.m. This is a planned event for Great America’s Memorial Day Weekend celebration. Please do not call 911 to report the sound of fireworks - only call 911 in the event of a true emergency
Police activity in the 600 block of Enright Avenue. There’s an active crime scene that includes a structure fire. Further information will be provided as available.

Public Service Announcement: The Fire Department is on scene of a grass fire at the BMX Park in Santa Clara. The fire has been contained, and there is currently no risk to any surrounding structures. Fire Department personnel will remain on scene conducting mop-up operations.

The fire is under control and there are no victims. The #1 lane of westbound El Camino Real between Kiely Blvd and Alpine Rd. has been opened. The #2 & #3 lanes are still shut down to westbound traffic.

The Fire Department is managing a defensive fire at a vacant commercial building at 2855 El Camino Real. Westbound El Camino Real is closed from Kiely Blvd and Alpine Rd. Please avoid the area.
The gas leak has been deemed safe by PG&E. Fire crews have left the scene. The northbound lanes of Lafayette will be opened by 6:00 a.m. this morning. The southbound lanes of Lafayette will remain under traffic control between Walsh and Central until repairs are completed.
Fire crews and PG&E are on scene of a gas line leak in Santa Clara near Lafayette St and Walsh Ave. Both north and southbound Lafayette St between Martin Ave and Walsh Ave. Please avoid the area. The timeline for the PG&E repair and when Lafayette will be reopened is unknown.
Latest update: PG&E timeframe for “deemed safe” will not occur until 8:00 p.m. at earliest. Lafayette will be continued to be shut down from Martin to Central possibly overnight. Fire will remain on scene until it is “deemed safe”.
