🚨 For the first time, we told a customer:
“We cannot help you.”
His wife had a platelet count of 1.5 lakh and it was falling rapidly.
She had a fever of 103°F.
Doctors suspected dengue and advised hospitalisation.
He had a Star Health policy.
But there was one problem:
Star Health requires prior approval from its doctor team before hospitalisation.**
So we had to tell him:
👉 Contact Star Health’s doctor team
👉 Explain the medical condition
👉 Get their approval
👉 Only then proceed with admission
Honestly,
It was heartbreaking to say this to someone whose wife was sick.
But when you’re dealing with an insurance policy,
you have to follow the insurer’s rules.
Fo any infectuous disease like Dengue Dever and malaria,
You must explain to Star Health why are u getting admitted?,
Only insurer to do this!
But that is how it is with Star!
Medieval barbarity going on in Bengal.
In Dinhata, a TMC woman leader was forced to sit in a school ground & publicly humiliated by pelting eggs.
Cal HC ordered FIRs in all egg-pelting cases & barred public humiliation of accused or political rivals. Yet this is going on!
The emergency response in Dubai is really like the future: a man passed out because of a heart attack, the paramedics came in a matter of minutes, installed the automatic CPR device Lucas 3, and immediately woke him up on the spot. 🚨
#WATCH | Kolkata, West Bengal: On Madan Mitra quitting Mamata Banerjee's TMC and joining rebel TMC faction led by Ritabrata Banerjee, Mamata Banerjee's TMC MP Mahua Moitra says, "It's not a surprise. Yesterday, his wife, daughters-in-law and sons were summoned by the ED. So, he has gone on the summons of the ED...He has gone on the invitation of the ED. So, we should understand that the person who was standing day before yesterday and abusing Ritabrata gang, today he is going there and sitting next to Ritabrata. This has been done on the special invitation of the ED, so we wish him luck. We wish him good luck and good health, may you have a lovely time working under the Ritabrata gang."
This clip of sports facilities created by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation has gone viral globally, with comments that marvel at the optimal & beneficial use of urban space.
It is indeed a wonderful addition to Kolkata & will add to the already transforming image of the city.
Happily, this isn't the first example of such urban ingenuity in India.
Indore pioneered the concept in 2021 by transforming the space beneath the Pipliyahana flyover into an exclusive sports complex. Since then, cities like Surat, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Vadodara have followed suit.
In 2023, I had posted about a similar transformation in Navi Mumbai, hoping it would spark a nationwide trend.
While many states, Odisha being a prime example, are building world-class centralized hubs, the real shift happens in the neighborhood.
By dispersing sports access into everyday urban spaces, we do more than build courts; we nurture a sporting mindset and culture from the ground up.
In 1998, Warren Buffett explained how to never lose money. MUST BOOKMARK🔖
The lecture was 1 hour 24 minutes long.
The company built on those ideas is now worth $1 trillion.
This is the closest thing to a cheat code that exists.
