When I was hired, my boss gave me one strange rule.

“If your phone rings after 7 p.m., don’t answer it.”

I laughed because I thought he was joking.

He wasn’t.

He repeated it.

“I don’t care if it’s me calling. Don’t answer.”

For the first few months, I followed the rule without thinking much about it.

Sometimes I’d see missed calls from coworkers late at night.

The next morning they’d apologize and say it wasn’t important.

Life was good.

Then one Friday, everything went wrong.

A client threatened to cancel a contract worth over $2 million.

Around 9:30 p.m., my phone started ringing.

It was my boss.

Then again.

And again.

Five missed calls.

My wife looked at me and said, “Shouldn’t you answer? This seems serious.”

I remembered the rule.

So I didn’t.

I barely slept that night, convinced I’d be fired.

The next morning, I walked into the office expecting the worst.

My boss called me into his office.

He asked one question.

“Did you answer?”

I said no.

He smiled.

“Good.”

I was completely confused.

He explained that the client had eventually calmed down and agreed to wait until morning.

Then he looked at me and said something I’ll never forget.

“If I can interrupt your family every time work gets stressful, eventually you’ll believe every problem is your emergency. Once that happens, you’ll never truly leave the office.”

A few months later, another employee ignored the rule.

He answered a late-night call.

Then another.

Then another.

Soon everyone expected him to be available all the time.

Weekends.

Vacations.

Even while he was in the hospital after breaking his leg.

People praised him for his dedication.

Until he resigned without another job lined up.

He was exhausted.

Years passed.

Eventually, my boss retired.

At his farewell speech, someone asked him what he was most proud of.

We expected him to mention record profits or company growth.

Instead, he said,

“I’m proud that hundreds of people watched their children grow up without believing work mattered more than they did.”

The room went quiet.

Today I’m the manager.

Every new employee gets the same instruction on their first day.

“If your phone rings after 7 p.m., don’t answer it.”

Some laugh.

Some think I’m old-fashioned.

Some assume it’s a loyalty test.

They’re all wrong.

It’s a reminder that if a company can only succeed by owning your evenings, then it isn’t really buying your time.

It’s buying your life.

And no salary is big enough to make that a bargain.

DO NOT touch that keyboard. This is one of the most dangerous attacks circulating right now.

This is called a ClickFix attack. It is not a CAPTCHA. It is not a verification step. It is a social engineering attack designed to make you execute malicious code on your own machine while believing you are proving you are human.

Here is exactly what happens if you follow those steps.

The fake page has already silently copied a malicious PowerShell command to your clipboard without you knowing. It happened the moment the page loaded. You did not click anything. You did not consent to anything. The clipboard was written to in the background by JavaScript running on the page.

When you press Win + R you open the Windows Run dialog. When you press Ctrl + V you paste that malicious command directly into it. When you press Run you execute it with your own permissions on your own machine. No exploit needed. No vulnerability needed. You did it yourself. Willingly. While thinking you were completing a CAPTCHA.

The payload varies. Researchers have documented ClickFix delivering infostealers, remote access trojans, and credential harvesters. The malware executes instantly and silently. By the time the Run dialog closes the damage is done.

The reason this attack works so well is threefold. The fake CAPTCHA looks visually identical to a real one. The instructions sound technical and therefore trustworthy. And critically, you are the one executing the command so endpoint security tools see a legitimate user action rather than an automated attack.

Real CAPTCHAs never ask you to open Run dialogs. Real CAPTCHAs never ask you to paste anything. Real CAPTCHAs never give you keyboard shortcuts.

If a webpage ever asks you to press Win + R for any reason, close the tab immediately.

@GuruShareMarket A 20yr 45L loans total repayment at 8%interst is 90L. He paid off in 8yrs, lets say he paid 60L & closed. Technically he just saved 30L. so now he can divert the loan emi to investment & keep compounding wealth while having good sleep. Smart move for those who dont understand.
