A story of media.
A tiger lived in a forest. He ran a factory where an ant worked as the sole employed laborer. The ant came on time. With full dedication, it worked with focus. The factory ran well. Production also increased. The tiger thought, if he gives the factory's supervision to an experienced person, the factory's production will increase even more. For that, he appointed a bee as the Production Manager. As soon as the bee joined, it informed the tiger about the need for a secretary to record the ant's daily workflow details. Immediately, a rabbit was appointed for this. The rabbit said a computer was needed to prepare the ant's workflow details and production graph. Immediately, a computer and its accessories were procured, and a cat was appointed as its manager.
Slowly, the factory got distracted from the real work amidst piles of papers, data collection, meetings, etc. Most of the ant's time was spent preparing data and attending meetings. Production decreased. The tiger remained worried. He thought maybe there was a mechanical problem. So he appointed a monkey as a mechanical trainer. Now the ant's work increased even more. Before starting work, it took training from the monkey. After finishing work, it gave the monkey the workflow data. The ant got very little time to do actual work; but the time it did work, it worked with full effort. Still, production kept decreasing. Now an owl was appointed as a consultant. After seeing all the data, the owl said there were more workers in the factory than needed. Therefore, the ant was dismissed from the job first. Even though this is a story, this is the reflection of the current society. The one who can prepare formal and showy paperwork is the one who gets praised and promoted; but the one who keeps working without believing in data is left behind.
