@Terios1996@misthiOSX the series is called the Elder scrolls because the player character is the subject of their own elder scroll, the words of which are always changing and shifting, as there is no canon protagonist to any game. the players are little walking dragon breaks.
@alien4biggesfan@Rotmangunk I *do* think they're in a good spot to do a decent Elsweyr or Valenwood though, which I don't think they could have 15 years ago.
@alien4biggesfan@Rotmangunk bethesda would never be able to do argonia justice. i can't see them rendering the canopy and dense jungle well, I can't see them writing native argonian characters in a convincing way, or portraying their society adequately. black marsh works better off-screen imo
@itsicedcoffee@BonefulBill never touched it because I knew it wasn't for me. wouldn't say I "hate" it because I'm completely ambivalent towards it. I understand it has some lore additions that I think are bad and detract from the setting though.
@BonefulBill@itsicedcoffee if you ask someone why they don't like a game that's a different genre than the core franchise, that is not a pedantic reason lmfao. it highlights how vastly different the games are on a fundamental level. if you like MMOs that's fine but not everybody has to, jesus christ
@SovereignFur@BonefulBill@AlmsiviSimp yeah that's exactly my point. the world does not react or respond to you in any meaningful way. you're not a part of the world the way you are in the other games.
@BonefulBill@itsicedcoffee "archeryslop" and it's a game where your arrow is a literal object in the world that's subject to a physics engine to determine if your shots land or not when ESO's archery is just "did you click on the enemy? then it does damage even if there's something in the way"
@misthiOSX the tutorial is full of lines where the Emperor-Mystic talks about your fate, he says "you alone must stand against the prince of destruction"
there's also no reference or indication to Martin being chosen or prophesised.
Martin is the protagonist of the overall story.
@SovereignFur@BonefulBill@AlmsiviSimp my point is about how the world is dynamic lol, I'm not talking about any of my characters. remind me what happens if you kill an NPC in ESO again
