In the end, I cannot fault anyone besides myself, in spite of scammers. I need to be more clear.
Anyway. Try to have a fruitful week. I'm going to fuck off for a while and only come back when I have something to show, as usual.
Either I put up or shut this down.
I do not think highly of any of my posted work. None of it has been up to my standards, let alone professionally. I can do better.
Considering that, when someone requests my models, and doesn't want to work with me to improve them, it makes me question their standards.
For years working on SoA fanart, I've been offered money, joining projects, and requests for my assets.
Only a couple of these were legitimate.
None of these avenues have ever been my goals.
I make stuff. I post it. Most of it is incomplete. Then I fuck off. That's it.
Thank you to followers still showing any interest in my work. I appreciate it, especially after dealing with my tedious waywardness for months or years.
Life finds a way to interfere or inspire. Just roll with it. Or fight through it. I don't know. The future's grim.
I hate to do this, but I couldn't do much this week. I keep getting pulled away by things out of my control, and I'm tired and ill. Shit happens.
No more weekly updates. I'll continue working on my current scene, but updates will be sparse, and only if something's worth showing
Sorry again. No work done this week. Every time I try to sit down to continue it, other stuff keeps pulling me away.
This will be the grinding week. No more distractions. Time is set aside for this topic. It will come into fruition one way or another.
Sorry. Nothing to show this week. Drawing didn't work out to my satisfaction, and the holidays were busy with family.
I'm going back to 3D. This week will hopefully be a fanart grinding week, barring any other happenings. As usual, my output is very volatile.
Yeah. I'll try drawing this scene, and hopefully post something more fully illustrated than I've ever have before. I've only posted intentionally rough sketches in the past, due to most of it just being minimal concepting. I want to feel the suffering/elation of 2D artists again.
An illustration would take less time, I think, and could be "finished" at any level (eg. "painterly" or more sketchy). Disadvantage of 3D is it will just look bad if not fully cared for until the end, because every error is amplified due to the inherent sharpness of renders.
Alternatively, I could try to just draw/paint the scene. I'm not as confident about that, but it would be interesting. However, it's been a long time since I colourized/painted anything, and I've never shown any attempts at fully illustrating any of my ideas on the internet.
Been busy. Back again and will be grinding until this project is done.
Workflow:
Sculpt Fina's hands/arms ► Solve/Finish her face ► Enviro setup for camera angle, character blocking, lighting ► Enviro objects ► Fina's clothing ► Finish Ramirez ► Texturing ► Silvite Elder?
Typically, 3D sculpting, especially without much ref, is a rollercoaster. I'm doing this sculpt very destructively, keeping no old models, which I usually do. It's fun, but designs change rapidly. One just hopes to arrive at something presentable via algorithmic self-repair.
Shifted more towards anime/cartoony. Keeping the sculpt simpler with smoother features is probably for the best. Texturing with SSS skin will be most important.
I'm looking forward to making her arms/hands. Nothing cuter than tiny pudgy baby hands. Another smol challenge.
Sculpting experiments continue. Babies are weird. I may try a full on anime baby style, but it won't entirely match my modernized/slightly more westernized teen Fina. This is definitely the more challenging things to figure out for my scene.
The funny thing will be the fact that everyone has their own interpretation of what a cute baby is. Of course, parents tend to think their own babies are the cutest, like wedding rings, or pets. Related to it, I'll have to push and pull between realistic, anime, and westernized.
