The most exciting work throughout film history has been done in spite of the system. There is no legitimacy or prestige to be found on the internet. But there is an audience, and creative freedom. And that's all you need to make a "real" film.
My films are always removed from Letterboxd/TMDB, for seemingly no reason other than, the moderators pick & choose when to enforce rules based on which filmmakers they personally believe deserve legitimacy.
Sad a tech company gets to decide that, but that's the world we live in.
