@countrywalking @VisitArran Machrie Standing Stones definitely one of my favourite low level walks. I've shared this walk with friends and family. Another stone circle that's a must see is Auchagallon Stone Circle near Machrie. Short uphill walk just off the road. Stunning views across the Arran Coastal Way
@Kirstymill@welovehistory There was a cairn at Auchagallon circle until C 19. Farmer Sim, Bryce’s informant, probably cleared it. He may have dumped it in the circle. It was about NNW from the circle centre, where the model in the photo is.
It's a curious one that sits on a shelf of land overlooking Machrie Bay. A cross between a regular cairn and a stone circle and has not been excavated. I like to give this as an example of how awkward these sites can be to categorise - it is quite unique and mysterious. 2/
Auchagallon has been given an average Ambience rating of 4.6 out of by our dozens of visit loggers this is a most beautiful location. 📷 Top photo UKVegan More: https://t.co/KQx3HKqEiy 3/

I'm told it was @KevinClimate: more power to your elbow. Thank you for using your platform to say what so many of just have to shout at the radio about #r4today
Meanwhile climate scientist @KevinClimate on Radio 4 this morning also emphasising that there's no 'cost of living crisis', rather there's an equity crisis.
Framing it as the former just diverts attention from the minority whose wealth continues to increase.
So here at 2 hours 36. @KevinClimate talking about climate action and inequality. @ZackPolanski should ask him on bold politics podcast

Please share widely folks. This is colonial messaging, nothing else.
