@sophielouisecc Those on the motability scheme do not get BMW cars. Too much misinformation regarding disabled people being takin in by those that are gullable.
@narindertweets You say you want an adult conversation but demean any reply that don't agree with you, and adult conversation is respecting each other's opinion within that conversation.
Thank you to all the MPs who are speaking out against and voting against these cruel cuts. We see you trying to protect your Disabled constituents and standing up for what's right. #BinTheUCBill
Before MPs of all parties vote tonight on the #disabilitybenefits bill, they need to be reminded that the DWP admitted in a FOI reponse to me last week that ZERO disability associations, charities and organisation were consulted on their proposed changes to #PIP eligibility (see image). It was a policy plucked out of thin air, with no idea of the ramifications it would have on the disabled community. It's now consigned to the dustbin, but why should we trust @stephenctimms to work with those same disability organisations while working on his PIP review over the next year? And who will choose which organisations are consulted? There is absolutely no reason why we should trust him, the DWP or the government on this.

Imagine being an MP that voted for a Bill that the UN says will, “deepen the signs of regression” for disabled people’s human rights.
Well done @UKLabour 👏
MPs, how you vote both on the universal credit bill and the amendments both individually and as a party will be remembered forever. Even when a new welfare bill eventually comes, the ghosts of lives ruined and lost will live forever in the space between you and your constituents.
I know from personal experience how difficult the PIP & UC process can be.
I came into politics pledging to be a voice for disabled and vulnerable people and advocate for those who so often do not have anyone fighting their corner.

These proposals will still force disabled people into poverty.
I oppose a two-tier approach where the support you get depends on when you applied - not on need.
There’s a fairer, more Labour way.
Let's ask wealthy corporations and individuals to pay - not the disabled.
These concessions aren't enough and they should worry us all.
If you become disabled tomorrow, you risk not having the support you need.
We would be condemning future generations of disabled people to greater poverty.
I will be voting against the Bill.
Labour MP Richard Burgon calls for a wealth tax of 2% on all assets over £10 billion.
"That would raise £24 billion a year, far in excess of what the government is trying to save through these welfare cuts."
@RichardBurgon | @petercardwell
"Disabled people should have been at the heart of the matter from the beginning"
Comedian Roșie Jones says the government "never considered the real effect" that the proposed welfare reform would have for disabled people
MPs are so keen on means testing I suggest we means test MPs salaries. The salary could be reduced for any second income or freebies and a capital limit ruling them out of any salary if above the threshold. That way we only support the MPs who genuinely need it.
I’m voting against disability benefit cuts because I oppose them, but the process by which this Bill is being rushed through without necessary information or adequate scrutiny, is reason enough for MPs to vote against it on Tuesday.
This is not how we should make laws.
