@anditsbeenages At what age? My daughter is 10. You better believe I'm going to go through aaalll her stuff whenever I feel like it. When she's 15 or 16? Maybe not so much.
@jk_rowling@jk_rowling Imo, gender identity is a cultural phenomenon and gender dysmorphia results from our culture’s intolerance and rejection of effeminate men & masculine women. I do wonder, if our culture embraced effeminate gay man & masculine lesbians would transgenderism even exist?
@LibArtsNdCrafts@hankgreen@PhilipPullman A) does not make sense to me. If trans people want a world where gender truly doesn't matter, why are they changing genders? IMO, if you don't want something to matter, then you act as if it doesn't matter. B) It was a is rhetorical half statement.
@LibArtsNdCrafts@hankgreen@PhilipPullman No, I am not saying it doesn't matter. I am saying that my generation has been taught, since the time we were kids, that girls can do anything boys can do and boys can do anything girls can do. There was even a Dr. Seuss book about it for crying out loud. So, if that's true..
@commaficionado Making spreadsheets in Excel and organizing LEGOs relaxes me greatly, especially if I listen to an audiobook at the same time. Also, listening to the same song over and over again... and being in water is helpful too. It's not easy, and maybe I'm just lucky, but I've found ways.
@commaficionado@NeurodivergentC It's hard to relax when you're always trying to understand people who speak in riddles and with so much more than just words. It's like being in a new foreign country all the time.
