@tj_mackey432 @Trip_Maverick As someone who worships at the altar of Rogue Nation, I just came here to say that even after a rewatch of M:I movies - where my rankings shifted quite a bit - RN remains my favorite. Such a non-stop bundle of joy action flick w/ Ilsa constantly being the coolest a person can be.
“She’s crazy, people will never work with her now”.
That’s the rhetoric that stops us from having these conversations. Her last line is “maybe we can turn a tide in the film industry”.
If you’re against that? Publicly? I’d be more worried people will never work with YOU
Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore from 52 years ago (FIFTY-TWO!) led to Ellen Burstyn (Alice) winning BEST ACTRESS. It was also nominated for best supporting actress because it featured multiple great female characters at the center. Why do ppl act like that didn't happen? 🙃
DISCLOSURE DAY is Steven Spielberg's 2nd consecutive film to top-bill a woman, after THE FABELMANS. Martin Scorsese & Christopher Nolan could never.
@steelydante@madison_tayt Also: Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore from 52 years ago (FIFTY-TWO!) led to Ellen Burstyn (Alice) winning BEST ACTRESS. It was also nominated for best supporting actress because it featured multiple great female characters at the center. Why do ppl act like that didn't happen? 🙃
The men calling all women game protagonists ugly are not "secretly gay".
They aren't "scared to play a woman character".
THEY'RE JUST MISOGYNIST. THAT'S IT.
Hating women doesn't come from suppressed homosexuality or fear. IT'S JUST MISOGYNY.
“The students who cannot read a 20-page article today are the voters who will not be able to read a bill, or the jurors who cannot follow a closing argument, tomorrow.”
‘BACKROOMS’ director Kane Parsons says he would get “no enjoyment” out of using generative AI on any project — “It defeats the purpose entirely for me.”
“I think I'm in the same boat as most well-adjusted people. If I could snap my fingers and make generative Al disappear forever, I probably would.”

Seems important to remember she disowned him, not the other way around. She gave up perhaps the largest inheritance in human history because that's how important it is to be yourself
as long as major filmmakers keep softening up to AI, it’ll be "he’s only using it for storyboards," "he’s only using it to enhance the script," "he’s only using it for this one scene." it’s a boundary that will keep being pushed constantly, but okay
“How did we go from paper straws to data centres?”
Because no one listened to the environmentalists who said unchecked corporate pollution was the bigger issue.
@alaskastardust@jailedamanda People really truly believe having thoughts and feelings are bad or wrong… Have they never had an intrusive thought in their lives?
y’all genuinely have to lock in this year no discourse no ironic homophobia no dumb shit we gotta uplift the community and especially trans people right now
AI is so popular because it gives uncreative people the illusion that they are creative. It lets them skip right to the part where they get validation. It’s not only parasitic, but extremely narcissistic.
The idea that trans women are "male socialized" or whatever growing up is so laughable. We may all have different stories, but probably the most consistently shared experience amongst Trans women is growing up and feeling like you do not and cannot relate to any boys in your life
I genuinely don’t believe anyone wants hyperpersonalized media. People YEARN for communal viewing. Barbenheimer. Game of Thrones. Heated Rivalry. Part of the thrill is other people experiencing it with us. We should be bringing back appointment tv and 90 day theatrical releases
