@latimes They need to outlaw being allowed to kneel on necks like that. I worked in corrections with the mentally ill and dangerous, we never knelt on anyone’s neck during a takedown regardless of how violent they were or what they just did. There are other ways if restraint is needed.

When I was a teenager I was misidentified by police officers, shot at, and falsely arrested. Since then I have dedicated my career to changing the way law enforcement agencies interact with our communities. Now I'm running for Congress to continue that work.
