A3)With behavior, academic, or motivational issues, I would pull students aside after class or during recess and have a private, calm discussion about the issues we are facing. I would lay out the options and consequences to their actions. #ap3040
@GracieBarrett_ I loved when my teachers did this! It is easy to be discouraged when you see red ink across your entire paper, so giving positive encouragement is a great idea!
A2) In middle school, we talked about what we wanted to be in the future with the class. We created a plan of action in order to achieve our ambitions and tried to find people in the community that shared our goals and what beneficial traits they had. #ap3040
@DaltonMcgowen I agree that along with being invested in the classroom, it is also important to be invested outside the classroom as well. Students should know that you care at all times, not just when it is convenient for you.
A1) I would create a common culture in the classroom for my students. I would make it clear that I am open to their ideas and interested in their thoughts and perspectives. I would also be sure to create an environment that is accepting to all students. #ap3040
My major is elementary education. My biggest role model is my mom. She was a teacher, an academic coach, and is now a principal. She inspires me to push myself and to one day become an effective teacher. #ap3040
