Comm. Davis moved to defer the item with support from Comms. Shore, Corral Sepulveda and Spyropoulos. If you are interested in whether this lease happens, you have the opportunity to contact your comms. and/or attend the next MWRD meeting and share your thoughts.

Agenda item 27 of today’s @MWRDGC meeting was to start the process of leasing a parcel of MWRD land along the #calsag in #Alsip to a company that would convert what appears to be a #greenspace into a truck parking lot.

The site was used by the US Army Corps for some kind of disposal, and the Army Corps no longer needs it. The MWRD indicated that the lease would require compliance with the MWRD’s WMO standards, and noted that this particular company has indicated an intent to include bioswales.
