@teacher2teacher My version of heads up 7-up: all heads go down, I ask a question and they keeping their heads down five thumbs up, thumbs to the side or thumbs down. Once I’m done I say hands down, heads up.

@OverthrowingEd Homework for my middle schoolers was predominately for students who didn’t use class time wisely or who needed/wanted more time. Often times I’d grade on what they finished unless otherwise requested by the student or unless I knew they could 100% do it on their own.

Some adults still need this too 🤔 I always cringe when parents think that their kids being in middle school means that they can back off. Kids still need accountability, structure, and follow through.

@leeannjung @AllAboutTHEPACT 100% agree, but when I have 42 kids and counting on my caseload and not enough minutes in the day to fully support the students with IEPs all I can say is programs like SST and 504 need to step up and be more robust. It can’t all fall on sped teachers.
