@sansanray A really easy way I've found to navigate this is to ask the person what kind of support they need: Are you venting? Do you want advice? Will it be helpful if I tell you about my experience? The benefits are twofold: there's consent. Second: both people have sway in the convo.
We should talk more about financial trauma and its side effects, such as:
• overspending
• underspending
• workaholism
• excessive risk aversion
• analysis paralysis
• anxiety/OCD
• restlessness
• hypervigilance
but so many folks consider financial discussions "taboo."
