@ChristySColeman The American women sculptors who lived in Rome in the 1850s and 1860s would make a great sexy limited series or series of graphic novels.
@B1RDERGIRL@dendroica Thank you so much for tagging me, and for your remembrance of John. As we approach one year without him, I've been thinking of him a lot and it means a great deal to me to know that his friends are thinking of him too.
@Lady_Historian I feel like I remember reading somewhere that the HDTV shows push a lot of open plan renovations because they thought more men would watch if they smashy smashy the walls.
Lack of an American sculptural tradition compelled Jefferson to look to France for this portrait of Washington. New video about Houdon’s Washington in Richmond, with thanks to Sarah Beetham (@SarahBeetham), https://t.co/yIcHEKkHM3

I very much enjoyed traveling to #Richmond a few weeks ago with @bethrharris and @drszucker to record videos for @Smarthistory!
Here's the first one: a conversation about the #RobertELee statue that was removed two days ago https://t.co/XxRqXxylwa
@Renaissance9944@rgay I just lost my brother to epilepsy two months ago. He was 43 and I miss him terribly. I'm so sorry for both of your losses. Losing a sibling is such a terrible thing.
@K_ParnellJr I like movie soundtracks for writing. Generally no words, so that doesn't distract me, and the music is usually pleasant but repetitive enough that it fades into the background. Depends on your taste, but the Gettysburg and LOTR soundtracks work well for me.
@Laprofmme There have been a number of instances of contractors being targeted by white supremacists after participating in monument removals. Given how high-profile Charlottesville is, I don't blame them for being cautious.
As the crane moves into position to remove Charlottesville's Lee statue, 3 Black women in City leadership (police chief, Mayor @NikuyahWalkerCC, student activist @ZyahnaB) speak to the press about symbolic 1st steps to eradicating white supremacy. #Cvillestatuesdown
