Today, we join Israelis around the world in celebrating Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel Independence Day. Ontario and Israel have a close and important relationship, made even stronger thanks to Ontario’s vibrant Jewish community.

Today, we also remember the many challenges Israel has faced throughout its existence, including the horrific attacks of Oct. 7, as we pray for the safe return of the hostages and for peace in the region.
